Facility FAQ’s

What are the facility conditions?

The site is an inclusive rustic and rural camp that has been modified to make it more accessible than most camps.  Altitude is 5,000 feet. Temperatures vary from 55 degrees at night to 95 degrees in the day. There is a slight chance or rain. 

ADA designed restrooms and a shower are available. Accessibility will be adequate. All participant facilities are one level. Meals will be adequate and special dietary needs will be accommodated.  Sleeping Dog Ranch has easy access to communications, and a hospital. Tested emergency response times are adequate, and the camp has hosted more than a dozen NWTAs over the last 7 years.

Is the site power chair accessible?

The site can accommodate power chairs in the areas used for the Barrier Free weekend.

What are the restrooms like?

The site has both shared and private restroom facilities.  Adequate time will be provided to accommodate each man’s bathroom and self-care needs.

Can participants bring their own campers?

The site is designed to accommodate participants in a group setting.  Participant personal campers are not allowed.
